Lamy's 'booklet' notebooks are a very stylish version of what would often be called a 'cahier' or an exercise book. Soft covers, with 64 pages, but with the use of nice textured grey covers, and bright neon stitching.
The paper is high quality 90gsm 'ink proof' ivory paper, made to perform well with fountain pens as well as any other type of pen, as you'd expect from Lamy. It's acid-free, for long-term archival use.
The ruling is referred to as 'Lamy Ruling' - it's not quite lined, and not quite squared, but a combination of the two. Small squares are marked in dotted lines, with every second horizontal line solid instead of dotted. The result is a useful and flexible combination - ignore the dotted lines, and it's a ruled notebook, perfect for writing, which is the main use for a notebook for most of us. Pay attention to those dotted lines, though, and it's a squared notebook, ideal for drawing tables, diagrams, or going more free-form with your notes.
