A real classic. Slim retractable ballpoint made from aluminium. Coolly understated with the classic Caran d'Ache pocket clip; 'Caran d'Ache' engraved around the polished metal push-button; and a range of simple unadorned finishes. Proudly stamped 'Swiss Made'.
There are a choice of 8 barrel colours here - all fitted with a black refill; but there is also the choice of a red pen with red ink, a green pen with green ink and a blue pen with blue ink. Note that 'Sapphire Blue' is the darker blue barrel colour.
All refills medium point using the standard Caran d'Ache Goliath refill, good for 8000 metres of writing. A complete range of refills in four colours, plus fine and broad options are available.

Caran d'Ache is familiar to many for their excellent range of coloured pencils. Caran d'Ache was the pen name by which French illustrator, Emmanuel Poiré, achieved worldwide renown in the 19th century. “Karandash” is the Russian term for “pencil” and in turn comes from the Turkish root “kara tash” which refers to black stone – the origins of graphite.
This natural material found in the mountains of Switzerland gave rise to the first Swiss pencil factory, in Geneva in 1915. Nine years later, in the hands of its founder, Arnold Schweitzer, it took the name of the famous illustrator and became known as Caran d'Ache.
