Platinum #3776 is the main premium model in the extensive Platinum fountain pen lineup, and we think this is one of the best fountain pens in production. Platinum named the #3776 after the height in metres of Japan's 'ideal' Mt.Fuji, which is a none-too subtle riposte to Montblanc. In recent years all #3776 models have been updated to #3776 Century models. This change incorporates Platinum's Slip and Seal system, which seals fountain pen nibs in their caps far more effectively. This means pen nibs will not dry out even if left for a long time, and also allows Century pens to use Platinum's famous waterproof Carbon Ink, due to the reduced risk of drying out. Platinum claim that Century pens can be left for a year without drying out.
