Have you heard about The Big Draw? If not, the Big Draw was created by the Campaign for Drawing to encourage everyone to take up or least try their hand at drawing. Taking place every year in October, The Big Draw attracts over 200,000 people from 15 countries to come together and draw. And we want you to get in on the action as well!
As you all know, the spookiest and scariest day of the year, Halloween, takes place on the 31st October which also happens to be the month that The Big Draw kicks-off all their activities for 2013. This got us thinking... the Big Draw is all about inspiring people to have a go at drawing and a competition is a great way of giving it a go and getting involved!
Starting from today, we would like you to grab your pens and pencils, put them to paper and draw a haunted house! The drawing can be in any style you want, it can be scary, spooky, funny, colourful, dark or abstract, in black & white or full colour. The only rule is that it must be hand drawn by you!
The aim of this competition is to get people back into drawing, we're not expecting a masterpiece, so just let the creative juices flow and see what you come up with. All the drawings that we receive will go through an internal vote and the top 3 will then undergo a public vote.
The deadline to get your Haunted House drawings to us is the 28th October. We will then cast our eye over them and select the top 3, which will be highlighted on our blog and opened up to voting. The winning drawing will be announced on the 4th November and will win a tin of 72 Koh-I-Noor Polycolour Artist Colour Pencils! The two runners up have not been forgotten and will each receive a tin of 24 Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Artist Colour Pencils, but that's not all, we will also pick an artist at random from all the entries who will also win a set of Koh-I-Noor Polycolor Pencils!
So how do I send you my drawing?
Please send a low-res image of your drawing to firstname.lastname@example.org with the title Cult Pens Drawing Competition and we'll take care of the rest. We will also notify you when the voting process begins.
Let the voting begin!
Thanks to everyone who entered our Haunted House drawing competition! It was great to see so many people putting pen to paper and taking part. After hours of intense deliberation we finally settled on the top three drawings, which you can see below. Do you have a favourite? If so, vote for yours by clicking the name of your favourite artist in the box directly after the images. The drawing with the most votes will be crowned the winner!
The winners will be announced on Monday the 4th November. Good Luck!
