Platinum Carbon Pen - a simple, slender fountain pen with an extra-fine steel nib. The feed of this pen is specifically designed to accommodate Platinum's excellent Carbon pigment ink - a strong black waterproof and lightfast ink ideal for documents and for drawing and sketching. The nib has a little spring to it to aid expressive strokes.
The cap of the pen is oddly utilitarian, with a hexagonal block to stop it rolling off desks - probably because the Carbon Pen is ideally used with the Platinum Desk Stand.
Supplied with one Platinum Carbon black cartridge.
The Carbon Pen will optionally take a Platinum converter. With this you can use any bottled ink or Platinum's pigment ink range.
Platinum Pigment ink in Blue, Red and Sepia.
Finally you can use Platinum's standard fountain pen ink cartridges.
NOTE: When using this pen with Platinum Carbon or Pigment Ink we advise flushing the pen if it's to be left for more than a few days without use. Pigment inks are virtually impossible to flush from pen feeds if they're allowed to dry out.

Relatively unknown in the West, Platinum are a very well respected brand in Japan, especially known for the quality of their fountain pen nibs, and their innovations in mechanical pencils, brush pens and multipens. Their high-end fountain pens have much in common with the closely related brand Nakaya, a legendary brand among fountain pen enthusiasts.
We are the UK's premier importer of Platinum pens, and we work closely with Platinum Japan to offer a high standard of support to all Platinum products we sell.
