The Croquis features all the traditional advantages of a mechanical pencil:

Pilot Croquis sketching pencil, featuring a thick 3.8mm twist-action lead available in three degrees. Easy-hold barrel with triangular grip barrel. With lead retracted, barrel length is a compact but usable 12.3cm.
Interestingly, the Croquis makes an ideal underwater pencil due to the all-plastic, easy-grip barrel and chunky twist-control. Writes on slates or waterproof paper.
