The classic pencil since 1905. Without doubt one of the highest-quality pencils available on the market. Forest green like the regimental colours: that was the order given by the former Guards officer, Count Alexander von Faber-Castell, when in 1905 he put forward his plan for a revolutionary new pencil. Hexagonal in section, so that it would not roll off a sloping desk, equipped with a lead of the highest quality that was produced in no fewer than 16 grades of hardness using a secret new process. The pencil was given the name CASTELL 9000, which was stamped in golden letters on one face. You can read more about the history of the 9000 pencil at The Faber-Castell website. |
